Use Your Own QR Code to Sign in to SafeSite
Administrators can use Virtual Superintendent to link external QR codes to a SafeSite account so you can quickly sign in using a custom QR code. You can also link your own QR codes through the SafeSite mobile app if your organization already uses QR codes on site cards or other identification cards.
Once one or more QR codes are linked to your SafeSite account, you can scan any of them to load your account on any device or to sign in at a SafeSite Docket Station, making the sign-in process faster and more convenient.
Link a QR Code to Your SafeSite Account
To link a QR code to your SafeSite account:
- Open the SafeSite app and sign in.
- Tap Menu > Settings. The Settings screen opens.
- Expand QR Codes for Sign In.
- Tap Add QR Code.
- Scan your external QR code, such as the QR code on your site card. The QR code is added to the list, showing the date and time it was linked to your account. To link additional QR codes, tap Add QR Code and repeat the process. To remove a linked QR code, tap the Delete icon next to the QR code.
Once linked, the QR code can be used to quickly load your SafeSite account on another device. From the SafeSite opening screen, tap Switch User and then scan the QR code to access your account.
Note: SafeSite links the scanned QR code to your account, but any personal information encoded within the QR code is not accessible through Virtual Superintendent. Administrators can see when a QR code was linked to your account and can remove linked QR codes if required, but they cannot view the QR code itself or any information stored within it.
